Who is Tranzurban?
Tranzurban is part of The Tranzit Group, an award-winning, fourth-generation family owned transport and tourism company operating throughout Aotearoa, New Zealand. While Tranzit will celebrate its centenary in 2024, Tranzurban began delivering public transport bus services to Wellingtonians on the Metlink network in 2018. Since that time, our team has grown to more than 450, who are based across five depots in Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Wainuiomata, Rongotai and Grenada.
We have a large fleet of vehicles including more than 30 electric double deck buses and over 220 Euro 6 diesel buses, that are the most environmentally friendly diesel buses available with extremely low emissions. Our extensive charging infrastructure supports our growing fleet of battery powered electric buses and is cutting edge in its technology ... in fact there is nothing else like it in New Zealand where we can charge multiple vehicles at once and on different types of chargers.
This investment in our electric fleet and charging infrastructure supports our long term sustainability vision to help New Zealand reach its decarbonisation goals on time.
